Blow Up The City Attack Heli: The Aircraft UPDATE 1.5 Adds
Attack Heli is the fourth named addition under UPDATE 1.5. We describe the aircraft we can actually see in the official art, and mark where the name and the picture do not meet.
The name, and the shorthand in it
The seventh entry in the UPDATE 1.5 block of the developer's description reads 'Attack Heli'. We read that text from the game's Roblox page on 10 September 2026. It is written in the developer's own shorthand rather than as a formal name, which is worth noticing: a strike called Nuke or Earthquake is named after what it does, while this one is named after the machine that does it.
That difference is the only clue the wording gives about how it works. An entry named after a vehicle raises the possibility that the helicopter is something you control, or something that appears and acts on its own, rather than a single blast that lands where you point. It is a thin clue, and we are recording it as a clue.
What the official images actually show
This game's art is unusually consistent, so it is possible to describe it precisely. Across the five official thumbnails, read at 768 pixels wide on 10 September 2026, the recurring elements are: a city of glass towers and blocky apartment buildings, one partially built high-rise with its floors exposed, a yellow tower crane, explosions with orange fire and heavy black smoke, flying debris, burnt-out street-level rubble, and aircraft in the sky.
The aircraft are the part relevant to this page. In the main thumbnail there is a large dark bomber-shaped silhouette high in the frame and jets angled across the sky with bright exhaust. One reading of that thumbnail also reported a small rotary-wing shape over the dark title panel, and we are not going to publish that as an Attack Heli. At 768 pixels, partly behind a semi-transparent panel, a silhouette is not enough to identify a specific vehicle, and every aircraft we can identify with confidence in this set is fixed-wing.
Why we will not treat a silhouette as confirmation
It would be easy to write a paragraph claiming the Attack Heli is visible in the game's store art. It is the kind of sentence that makes a page look researched, and it is exactly the sentence that turns out to be wrong two updates later. The rule this site follows is that an image confirms what is plainly in it and nothing more. What is plainly in these images is a city being destroyed and aircraft flying over it.
There is a second reason to be careful here. If the Attack Heli is player-flown, then the helicopters that matter to a player would be visible in gameplay footage rather than in store art, and store art would show whatever composition sells best. Reading mechanics out of a thumbnail is guesswork with a picture attached.
The gunship, which is the aircraft we can actually say something about
The Attack Heli is not the only aircraft this game sells, and it is not the one with the most written about it. The game's pass list, read on 10 September 2026, contains a pass called AC-130, on sale at 149 Robux, created on 20 August 2026, with a developer-written description that reads 'Take control of the AC-130 gunship and shoot 30MM rounds!'
Three things follow, and the first is the one that matters here. At least one aircraft in Blow Up The City is player-controlled: the developer sells the act of taking control of it, and sells the act of firing it. Until we read that pass list, the honest position on this site was that we did not know whether any aircraft in the game was flown by a player at all. That position is now out of date, and the sentence it changes is not about the Attack Heli but about the game: this is a game with a flight model, or at least one aircraft with a control scheme, and the Attack Heli is being added to it.
The second is what it does not settle. AC-130 and Attack Heli are different products with different names and different prices, and the existence of one player-controlled aircraft tells us nothing about whether a second one is player-controlled. A reader who wants the Heli question answered still does not have it, and we are not going to let a nearby fact quietly do the work of a missing one.
The third is about what kind of thing a pass is. This one is a permanent unlock rather than a per-use purchase, which means the developer has chosen to sell an aircraft as a thing you own rather than as a strike you call in. Whether the Attack Heli is sold the same way, sold as the Nuke is, or not sold at all, is unpublished. What we can say is that this game has more than one purchasing model in it, and that is an argument against assuming the Heli shares the model of whichever entry we happen to be reading.
The aircraft question the images do answer
One useful thing does come out of the art. Air power is central to how this game presents itself: the main thumbnail puts a bomber over a burning high-rise, and two of the other thumbnails show jets over the streets while buildings burn below. Whatever the Attack Heli turns out to be, it is being added to a game whose identity already includes aircraft as part of the destruction, so an addition by that name is not out of place.
Whether the aircraft in the art are player-triggered strikes or simply scenery is a different question, and the description does not answer it. Our page on the named strikes keeps the list of what is confirmed and what is not.
Why a helicopter is not just a slower missile
If the Attack Heli is flown rather than called in, it changes more than the aiming. A missile is over in seconds and its effect is decided the moment it lands. A helicopter is present for a stretch of time, which means the other players in a server can watch it, move away from it, and possibly interfere with it. In an eight-player server where everyone is working on the same city, an object that stays in the air is the first thing in the update list that could change how players relate to each other rather than how the city looks.
If it is automated instead, arriving over a target and firing by itself, then it is a strike with a longer animation and the word Heli is decoration. We cannot tell those two apart from the published record, and the difference is large enough that writing around it would be dishonest rather than concise.
If it is a vehicle, it needs a different page
A strike can be documented in a paragraph: what it costs, what it hits, what it pays. A vehicle cannot. A flown helicopter would need its own controls, whether it carries passengers, whether it can be damaged or shot down, whether it needs to land, and what happens to it when the server empties. Not one of those questions is answered by anything the developer has published, and that is why this page is about a name rather than about an aircraft. The moment it is confirmed as player-flown, this page needs to be split rather than expanded.
What we have not checked
We have not played the game, so we have not called in an Attack Heli or seen one arrive. We do not know its price, whether it is flown or automated, whether it can be shot down, whether it carries a passenger, or how many players in a server may use one at once. We have also not bought the AC-130 pass, so although its description says you take control of the gunship, we cannot describe the controls, how long it stays in the air, or whether other players can shoot it down. We have not watched community footage of this game either, which is the most likely place for a demonstration to already exist.

Frequently asked
Is there an attack helicopter in Blow Up The City?
Attack Heli is named in the developer's UPDATE 1.5 list, which we read on 10 September 2026. We have not confirmed it in game or in any official image.
What aircraft are in the Blow Up The City official images?
Fixed-wing aircraft: jets with lit exhaust crossing the sky and, in the main thumbnail, a large dark bomber silhouette above the city. The art is a demolition scene rather than a vehicle showcase.
Can you fly the Attack Heli in Blow Up The City?
Unknown. Nothing published says whether it is player-flown transport, a strike that arrives over a target, or a scripted flypast during an attack. The game does sell one aircraft you take control of — the AC-130 gunship at 149 Robux — but that is a different vehicle and it settles nothing about the helicopter.
